Ever since I can remember I have wanted to visit India!
Penal Petal, an older girl who befriended me in the neighborhood I lived in until I was 7 or 8, was of Indian heritage.
Her and her mother gifted me a beautiful pink Sari covered in silver sexagrams (latin) aka 6 pointed stars, which she had outgrown. I remember my awe and excitement as her mother pulled the vibrant pink silk scarf and skirt out of an old wooden trunk filled with fabrics. I wore that skirt until it was in shreds. I loved it so much! And probably even more because it was a gift from a dear friend who I admired.
For this mythic journey the call to action came from a new friend who is co-leading a Tantric Pilgrimage through India. We will visit some of the countries most sacred sites.
We will be completing our journey by participating in the colorful festivities of the Holi Festival March 21, 2019!
I’m so honored to be assisting some amazing sisters and brothers during this spiritual journey!!

Also...fun/serendipitous facts about the Sexagram:
It is a compound symbol composed of an upwards and downwards facing equilateral triangle, with their intersection as a regular hexagon. This also reminds me of mother/father, sky gods/earth godesses, Isis/Osirus coming together to create the divine child/Horus.
"The hexagram is a potent symbol of the relationship between the macrocosm and the microcosm, between Heaven and Earth. Most commonly seen as the Star of David, it has strong links to the Kabbalah and the Tree of Life. Classical astrology also meshes well with the hexagram, and it is a versatile and powerful symbol in Magical Ritual."

It is contained in the symbol for the Heart Chakra
"Anahata: The Heart Chakra
Anahata (also known as Anahata-puri, or Padma-sundara) is symbolized by a lotus flower with twelve petals around the sexagram. (See also heartmind). Anahata is related to the colors green or pink.
Key issues involving Anahata involve complex emotions, compassion, tenderness, unconditional love, equilibrium, rejection and well-being.
Physically Anahata governs circulation, emotionally it governs unconditional love for the self and others, mentally it governs passion, and spiritually it governs devotion.[6]
In the endocrine system, Anahata is associated with the thymus gland, located in the chest. This gland produces T-cells, that combat disease, and bring equilibrium to the body." Wikipedia Hexagram/Sexegram
How appropriate that the Sari was pink!
Pink is also associated with the Celtic Faery Queen Goddess Cred of Ireland and Scotland. She is also associated rose oil and it is said that wounded warriors who have spent time in her crystal chamber emerge healed. She is known for love magic, keeping secrets, searching for the perfect mate, and spirit contact.
Maybe I will find my perfect mate on this sacred journey!?
And I am sure there will be lots of spirit contact and love magic on this journey my heart was calling me to take. Trusting and putting aside fear around money, timing, and so many unknowns. I am stepping into more receptivity and co-creation with the Universe.
